Alicia Berg has recently moved to Karlstad with her husband and son. Alicia is in her final year of studies at Stockholm Resilience Center (Stockholm University) for a Masters degree in Sustainable Enterprising. She is originally from Texas, but has lived in six countries and has worked with small business development and purchasing.

During the spring of 2012 she will be focusing her studies on Resilience Theory and industry through an internship with Stål & Verkstad, supervised by Per Eiritz. The goal of this internship will be to provide recommendations for member companies as well as Stål & Verkstad for assessing and managing threats and challenges from the environment.

Some issues Alicia will focus on will include: assessing the future of the steel-related industry in Värmland, opportunities in sustainable industry, understanding environmental risks and problems, and how member companies of Stål & Verkstad can address these threats and opportunities to ensure improved competitiveness. 

Interviews with member companies of Stål & Verkstad will play an important role in this project.
